Facelift Neck Lift Case #2232

The patient is a pleasant, 86-year old gentleman who presented with heaviness of the neck. This had bothered him for many years. It was recommended that he undergo a direct neck excision. This is an outpatient procedure which involves removing the central neck skin which often hangs in the midline. Although this creates a scar, it heals very well, especially in males who have thicker skin and beards. This is an excellent alternative for patients who do not wish to undergo a larger procedure such as formal face and necklift. His photos are taken at 3 months post-op and he's very happy with his result.

1. Notice the heavy neck in the midline. After, the heaviness is removed and all that remains is the normal musculature known as the platysma. The incision is relatively unnoticeable.
2. Notice the improvement in the skin of the neck.
3. This is the most dramatic of the views. The "turkey neck" has been removed improving the contour and smoothness of the neck.
