About Facial Reshaping

Facial reshaping consists of several surgical procedures that each augment your face to elevate aesthetic appearance. They achieve their results by excising redundant skin, removing excess fat, inserting implants, reshaping your facial bones, placing sutures, and more. By receiving one, you can easily rejuvenate your appearance and attain a more balanced look that flatters your natural features.

Available Procedures

Buccal Fat Removal

Buccal fat removal is a procedure that can reduce excess fullness around the lower cheeks to achieve a more slender, defined appearance. (1) The buccal fat pad sits between the cheek and jawline, and it can slowly descend over time or grow bigger with weight fluctuations. Both Dr. Imola and Dr. Kowalczyk can remove a portion of the buccal fat pad to address these concerns and accentuate natural contours of your face.

Facial Implants

Facial implants are medical devices that your surgeon can place beneath the skin to restore the natural shape and contours of your face. We offer jaw, cheek, and chin implants to provide natural-looking results and supportive structuring. Each of these implants is made from body-safe materials such as silicone or porous polyethylene (MedPor), and your surgeon will tailor the size, shape, and type of implant based on your aesthetic goals and preferences. (2)

Facial Fat Transfer

Our surgical team can perform a facial fat transfer to restore natural-looking volume to your face. This procedure uses liposuction to take fat from another region of the body, purify it, and reinject it into areas experiencing hollowing or volume loss, such as the cheeks, temples, and under-eyes. (3) Because your own fat is used, you will not need to worry about any allergic reactions or complications.

Rhinoplasty

A rhinoplasty is a procedure that reshapes the nose to refine its appearance and function. (4) Dr. Imola and Dr. Kowalczyk can perform this procedure to elevate and augment the appearance of the nasal tip, dorsal hump, nasal bridge, alar base, and more—allowing you to attain a nose that appears harmonious and flattering among your other features. Our surgical team can perform several types of rhinoplasty to suit a range of needs, including primary, revision, and ethnic rhinoplasty.

Genioplasty

A genioplasty is a procedure that can improve the shape, position, and appearance of the chin and lower face. (5) The chin is a defining feature of the face that can significantly influence the appearance of your front and profile. With this procedure, your surgeon may either reduce the appearance of an overly prominent chin or reposition the jaw to accentuate a weak chin, restoring balance across your facial features.

Otoplasty

An otoplasty is a procedure that can reshape and reconstruct the ears. Dr. Imola and Dr. Kowalczyk can perform this procedure for both reconstructive and cosmetic improvements, with many patients coming to them to address congenital deformities, acquired injuries, or to improve their aesthetic appearance. Otoplasty procedures can address a range of concerns, including prominent ears, and more. (6)

Candidates

You may be an ideal candidate for facial reshaping if you are interested in augmenting the size, shape, symmetry, or fullness of a certain facial region or feature. Dr. Imola and Dr. Kowlaczyk can target several different areas of the face, including the:

  • Cheeks
  • Chin
  • Nose
  • Ears
  • Jawline

You should also be in good general health and possess realistic expectations regarding your results. You will also need to be nicotine-free or willing to quit. Dr. Imola and Dr. Kowalczyk will finalize your candidacy for each available procedure at your consultation. Please note that depending on your circumstances, you may qualify for certain procedures, but not for others.

Personal Consultation

Before proceeding with your facial reshaping procedure, you will need to attend a comprehensive consultation at our Englewood office. During this visit, either Dr. Kowalczyk or Dr. Imola will meet with you individually to assess your medical history, listen to your concerns, learn more about your ideal aesthetic, and perform a physical evaluation.

Using this information, your surgeon will create an individualized solution based on your existing facial structure, facial fat distribution, skin quality, and skin condition. They will recommend the most appropriate procedure, or combination of procedures, and tailor each to suit your goals.

Throughout this process, your surgeon will take the time to answer any questions and explain each concept. We want you to leave this meeting feeling confident, empowered, and informed about your treatment journey.
