I am 9 months post op from a 5th revision rhinoplasty with Dr. Imola and I couldn’t be happier. He honestly gave me my life back and I am forever grateful. I had a combined 4 previous surgeries with two different doctors. The first 3 were minor tipplasties and the 4th was a major one that went really wrong. I was left with a wide/flat and droopy looking nose that I couldn’t breath out of and the cartilage was so deformed that I kept getting infections. Living with this mistake consumed my life and made me miss out on so many great moments. Rhinoplasty is the most complicated cosmetic procedure, especially revisions, and while I knew it’d be a huge risk, I just wanted my life back. I did hours of research trying to find someone to help, and after consulting with 6 doctors all over the country, I decided on Dr. Imola. I met with him multiple times because I was so nervous but he was so accommodating and understanding. He was a lot different than other doctors in that I feel like he under promises but over-delivers. I did not expect a perfect nose and was just looking for some improvement but he gave me more than I could have ever hoped for. The surgery was long but he takes the time to get things right. He used my own rib graft and fascia to rebuild and resupport my nose. Not only can I breathe better than before but it also looks amazing. My family and friends cannot believe what a good job he did considering what he had to work with. Everyone at the office is amazing as well. Lisa was always more than accommodating to all my questions and would always check up on me. While I wish I really understood the risks before I had any surgery so I made better choices the first time around, I am truly grateful to Dr. Imola for the work he did. He doesn’t really advertise and isn’t a fan of social media (which I think speaks a lot to his good character) but he is very talented and skilled at what he does. More

Surgery scheduled for July 29!!!My surgery is scheduled for Monday July 29!!!I am scheduled to have revision rhinoplasty with Dr. Mario Imola. My first rhinoplasty was a year ago with another doctor who left me with dents/uneven nostrils a thin/weak looking bridge and a tip that is to high for my liking/overall nose. I have been crying, very depressed and self conscious for the past year:( I really want to have this done and move forward with my life. I hope with my revision to smooth out the irregularities, achieve a straight profile (NOT scooped/sloped or upturned), bring my tip down and more symmetry on my frontal view. The doctor said I am not a difficult case he suggested a minor closed rhinoplasty however, I'm not sure the outcome I want could be achieved with a minor rhinoplasty I also don't feel comfortable reducing the size of my bridge any further:( I want to add cartilage to make it stronger. It really doesn't matter to me if its closed/open or if both my ears have to be harvested for cartilage more importantly, I want this to be my last surgery. I pray that everything goes perfect so I can finally put this to rest. More

Revision Rhinoplasty - Dr. Imola gave me what 5 previous doctor's couldn't....a well functioning, straight, and wonderful looking nose! Prior to finding Dr. Imola, I had had 5 revision rhinoplasty's in just as many years to correct my breathing problem which stemmed from a deviated septum. The last rhinoplasty left me with a crooked non-functioning nose, not to mention a huge scar down the middle. I was devastated... More

Wonderful Experience - I am very grateful to Dr. Imola for the revision rhinoplasty he performed. Not only is he an amazing surgeon, but he is a wonderful person. It takes a special, gentle "soul" to do the type of work he performs on a regular basis. He helps people regain their dignity who have been injured, endured facial cancer, been born with facial deformities, or simply seeking cosmetic enhancement. In my case I sought Mario for a revision rhinoplasty. He fixed features of my nose I was very unhappy with from my primary surgery through a different surgeon i.e. elongated nose and ptosis of tip. He performed two procedures, one open and then a touch-up via closed approach under local anesthesia, to achieve the goals I sought. The parts of my nose that I felt the previous surgeon had erased, Mario restored. I feel like myself again when I look in the mirror and I can now appreciate the subtle refinements gained from rhinoplasty. My nose fits my face again. Thank you Mario! More

Natural asymmetrical nostrils and no bone support from re-breaking was adding more than a complex rhinoplasty revision needed. I struggled with BUYER BEWARE, your nose may fall off syndrome. I thought I was stuck. I searched the country, TV shows, outside of the country. I was down in vibrance, Who could blame me?, No surgeon would operate on a nose with such a profound background: large amount of scar tissue, there lack of tissue and very lacking bone support. Finding "THE DOCTOR": The search and hope was coming to an end. Two block away from house, I hear of an amazing conservative plastic (eye) surgeon. Wait, eye surgeon?, Dr. Willabee. Why Not? at this point, finding myself numb to finding "THE DOCTOR" I walk in with little enthusiasm. The words "I will not touch your nose"--- came out of these intelligent mans mouth. But?!, I have a great doctor for you, the only doctor that can do this properly. "THE DOCTOR", Dr. Mario Imola I simply want to thank great doctor's and great doctor's that know "THE DOCTOR" to go to. More

He explained to me the revision rhinoplasty would take 6 hours; the other doctor told me 2 1/2 hours. This was a complicated surgery because it was my 3rd one. The surgery ended up being close to 8 hours. He took the time during the consultation and explained to me what he was going to do. My nose was a mess inside due to scar tissue and I had medpour implant from previous surgery. Dr. Imola used cartilage from my ear and my ribs to reconstruct my nose and it looks amazing now. Dr. Imola's fee was $6000 but this was a revision and a complicated one. If you are looking for a rhinoplasty surgeon in Colorado, I would check him out. I'm damn happy with my results and it's been 9 months since surgery. I do have before and after pictures but don't really want to post them on the Internet. Thank you to Dr. Imola and Lisa the patient coordinator which helped me a lot. More

Had I known what I know now, I would have chosen Dr. Imola for my initial rhinoplasty. Unfortunately, I didn’t thoroughly research the process or meet with multiple doctors for my initial and as a result I spent a year and half dwelling over my nose and saving up to fix my lack of responsibility. Like many of you on the ‘revision rhinoplasty’ blog, I was devastated with my results. I chose a high-profile ENT/plastic surgeon out of Denver who specialized in rhinoplasty. I figured I couldn’t go wrong. I should have lived with my original nose but I couldn’t not know the possibility so I went through with the rhinoplasty. While I admit I had a great profile (I went for hump removal), the aesthetics were completely unattractive--frontal view--and every, (literally every), aspect of my nose was altered: it was longer, wider, flared nostrils with a completely redone tip. The smile everyone says you will get back after a few months was gone—no more teeth show. My nose looked and felt like a prosthetic limb that was added on to my face… and it didn’t fit. After a year of expressing my concerns to the doctor and being dismissed by both he and his staff with what a great job it was, I knew I needed to find a professional because the nose I had was unacceptable. This process brought me to Dr. Imola. I selected Dr. Imola after a thorough search. I met with multiple doctors in different states to hear their recommendations. I took my time and scoured the RealSelf website. What I found in Dr. Imola was he was personal (good bed-side manner), he listened to my concerns, he was honest and explained what he could and could not do with what he had to work with and what I wanted, and he wasn’t rushed in the appointments. He showed me, and then showed me again, what he was going to do. Knowing my husband was hesitant for me to go through with the procedure again, Dr. Imola discussed with him the process I would be going through to put him at ease. His follow-up was thorough and his office staff attentive. There is something to be said about compassion, understanding, and follow through. As for my nose, I finally have harmony. Dr. Imola has an eye for aesthetics and made the changes that were needed to get my nose back in balance with the rest of my features. My confidence is back and I am no longer embarrassed to look people in the eye. I understand that with any plastic surgery experience there is always the possibility of undesirable results regardless of the doctor’s qualification and experience. The most experienced doctor isn’t always going to have clients who are 100% satisfied. However, particularly in the area of plastic surgery, it is critical to have a doctor who is empathetic, willing to listen, and be accountable. How they handle questions, concerns, or insecurities of their clients after the surgery is just as important as picking a well-qualified surgeon. It’s hard to know before the surgery if a doctor is going to handle themselves with grace and dignity after an unsatisfactory surgery. While my surgery was a success with Dr. Imola and I only had minor insecurities during the healing process based off my initial surgery, Dr. Imola never dismissed or down played my concerns but made sure I was comfortable before I left the office. This was not the case with my initial rhinoplasty experience. I am not one to write reviews but people deserve to be recognized for quality work, engaging professionally, and being honest, and Dr. Imola is all of those. More

Couldn't be happier with the results - Revision Rhinoplasty - Englewood, CO - There is no question that the decision to move forward with any type of cosmetic procedure is one that requires a lot of careful (and logical) thinking; especially when a revision is being considered. I had my original rhinoplasty performed about two years ago by a local surgeon here in Colorado Springs. The outcome warranted another procedure; which was done by the same surgeon the following year. Unfortunately, the result was not very encouraging. My nose developed a “C-Shaped” deformity and after those two procedures, the experience left me with a lot of regret. The thought of going through this whole process with another surgeon was discouraging; I wasn't sure if the risks outweighed the reward and I was aware of the diminishing returns that come with multiple procedures on a given area. But after about six months, I reluctantly started doing a bit of research on surgeons that specialize in revisions and spent several weeks reading through everything from their credentials/experience to their patient reviews. Fortunately for me, one of the best surgeons in the country happened to be less than an hour away. I had visited with a few other surgeons in the Denver area before I met with Dr. Imola . At this point, the opinions I received from the other surgeons were surprisingly one-dimensional given the complexity of the procedure. Dr. Imola was the exact opposite; he addressed my concerns and expectations in a way that drew focus on a collective, yet tangible goal. Furthermore, Dr. Imola went into great detail about the procedure itself as well as the risks; two very important things that are often overlooked by a patient. The apprehension that I had before was now non-existent and I couldn't have had more confidence in someone than I did for Dr. Imola. I’m about 6 months post op and couldn't be happier with the results. It still amazes me what Dr. Imola was able to accomplish; my first surgeon didn't leave him much to work with yet the results have exceeded my expectations. The surgery itself went well and I am extremely thankful that Dr. Imola performed a closed versus an open rhinoplasty. It may have made the procedure more difficult for him but he did what was best for me and took his time in making sure everything was done to his standards (which you will quickly learn are very high). In any type cosmetic surgery, there is a fine line between mediocre results and amazing results and Dr. Imola isn't considered one of the best surgeons in the country because of second-rate work .Whether you are considering a procedure for the first time or seeking a revision, visiting with Dr. Imola might be the best decision you make. It was for me. More

I had a Rhinoplasty done about 15 years ago. My original Rhinoplasty appeared to be a pretty good job when it was first done, however as the years went by it went downhill. Unfortunately, online reviews of doctors was not as common as it is now. I spent a lot of time this time around reading reviews online of which doctor had consistently the best results. Dr. Imola appeared to be one of the best in the Denver Metro Area from all the research I did. When I went in to his office I already knew that my Rhinoplasty was going to be quite a bit more challenging than the average. Dr. Imola was extremely honest about what to expect. In fact the actual results turned out to be better than what he said I should expect to get from the procedure. Some people think it is simply superficial and materialistic to have cosmetic surgery done. I noticed quite quickly people were interacting with me differently than they had before, which started to have a really positive effect on my self-confidence. This increase in self-confidence has improved my life in ways I never thought it would. This was expensive especially since I had a more complicated revision Rhinoplasty, however I am convinced it was worth every last penny. More
