Otoplasty Case #2111
Before
After
This is a healthy, 36-year old male who presented with prominent ears. He wanted a reduction while maintaining the overall form. An in-office otoplasty was performed. This can be done under oral sedation and local anesthetic. The ear cartilage was reshaped and then "pinned" back towards the skull. The important point to remember is that the ears should not lay flat on the head; rather, they should have some projection - just reduced. He is very pleased with his natural result.
- Notice the prominence of the ears, particularly up high. After, the ears' projection is reduced while maintaining contour.
- Notice the reduction in how far the ears stick out from the head (reduced projection).
